    Product Description

    Definition of tapped density:
    According to the standard where a powder sample fills into a vessel and the vessel is vibrated at certain amplitude and frequency, this process can help to remove air from the powders. After reaching the required vibration time, the sample is flatten to the vessel brim and the ratio of the powder mass to the volume of the vessel is defined as tapped density. Tap density indicates the mass of powders filled into the vessel per volume after excluding air from the powders.
    BeDensi T Series introduction:
    Tap density analyzer BeDensi T series includes BeDensi T1 (one cylinder), BeDensi T2 (two cylinders) and BeDensi T3 (three cylinders). The densitometers equipped with multiple cylinders to measure powder samples simultaneously. BeDensi T series meets the criterion of Chinese National Standard GB/T 21354-2008, international standard ISO3953: 1993 and in accordance with provisions of the United States Pharmacopeia Drug tap density.

    Test Steps

    1. Prepare measuring cylinder:
    Select a suitable measuring cylinder according to the sample, clean it and dry it. The volume of the measuring cylinder selected is determined by the bulk density of the sample.
    Remark: the volume of the standard measuring cylinder is 25 ml and 100 ml. The 25 ml measuring cylinder is usually used for the testing of metal powder; and the 100 ml measuring cylinder is usually used for the testing of non-metallic powder. If you have special demands for the measuring cylinder, we can customize it.

    2. Sample preparation
    The sample is weighed by the balance. The weight (g) of the sample is determined by the bulk density, as shown in 3.

    3.Please see the table as follows:

    Bulk density (g/cm³) Volume of measuring cylinder(cm³) Sample weight(g)
    ≥1 100 100±0.5
    <1 100 50±0.2
    >7 25 100±0.5
    Bulk density (g/cm³) Volume of measuring cylinder(cm³) Sample weight(g)
    2~7 25 50±0.2
    0.8~2 25 20±0.1
    <0.8 25 10±0.1

    4. Load the weighed powder into the clean measuring cylinder, and try to keep the powder surface in a horizontal state. Then fix the measuring cylinder onto the seat and tighten it.

    5. Set up the vibration frequency and vibration times, and then press "start" button, the measuring cylinder starts vibration.

    6. After the machine stops the vibration, ,take the measuring cylinder off the seat and then confirm the volume of the powder after the vibration: if the sample in the measuring cylinder is horizontal after the vibration, the volume V can be read directly; If it is not horizontal, the average of the readings of the highest and lowest points on the measuring cylinder is used to determine the volume V of the vibration.

    7. Reading accuracy: when using a 100 ml measuring cylinder, the volume reading after vibration is accurate to 0.5ml; When using a 25ml measuring cylinder, the volume reading after the vibration is accurate to 0.1 ml

    8. Calculate the tap density: for the same kind of powder, we have to test the tapped density 3 times, and name the tapped density for each test to be ρ1,ρ2 and ρ3. Then the results of three tests were averaged to obtain the tap density of the sample. The calculation method of tap density is as follows:

          ρ1= m/V1
                                                                  ρ2= m/V2
                                                                  ρ3= m/V3

    Remark:

    1)    ρ1, ρ2, ρ3 refer to tap density ( g/cm3 )
    2)    m refers to the weight of the sample (g)
    3)    V1,V2,V3 refer to the volume after the vibration, the unit is cm3(ml)

    The final tap density(ρ) is calculated as follows:ρ= (ρ1+ρ2+ρ3)/3

    Packing

    1. Use thickened cartons;
    2. Thick foam board and buffer air bags are used to protect the instrument.
    3. Use wooden cases made by the plywood outside the carton to further protect the instruments;
    4. After the product is packed, we will carry out the package drop test to further ensure the safety of the instrument in long distance transportation.
