CFL2 encodes an intracellular protein that is involved in the regulation of actin-filament dynamics. Cofilin 2 is a major component of intranuclear and cytoplasmic actin rods. It can bind G- and F-actin in a 1:1 ratio of cofilin to actin, and it reversibly controls actin polymerization and depolymerization in a pH-dependent manner. Mutations in CFL2 cause nemaline myopathy type 7, a form of congenital myopathy. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
Cofilin Polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of Cofilin protein.
Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator. Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: WB: 1:500-1:2000, IF: 1:200-1:1000, ELISA: 1:40000. Not yet tested in other applications.
