NRN1 (Neuritin 1) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with NRN1 include Astrocytoma and Degenerative Myopia. Among its related pathways are Metabolism of proteins and Post-translational modification- synthesis of GPI-anchored proteins. NRN1 encodes a member of the neuritin family, and is expressed in postmitotic-differentiating neurons of the developmental nervous system and neuronal structures associated with plasticity in the adult. The expression of NRN1 can be induced by neural activity and neurotrophins. The encoded protein contains a consensus cleavage signal found in glycosylphoshatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored proteins. The encoded protein promotes neurite outgrowth and arborization, suggesting its role in promoting neuritogenesis.
Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator. Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: WB 1:500-2000 ELISA 1:5000-20000.
