MT-ND2 (Mitochondrially Encoded NADH:Ubiquinone Oxidoreductase Core Subunit 2) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with MT-ND2 include Leber Optic Atrophy and Alzheimer Disease Mitochondrial. Among its related pathways are Metabolism and Respiratory electron transport, ATP synthesis by chemiosmotic coupling, and heat production by uncoupling proteins.. GO annotations related to this gene include NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone) activity.
Human NADH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase chain 2 (MT-ND2) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MT-ND2 in samples. An antibody specific for MT-ND2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyMT-ND2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MT-ND2 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MT-ND2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
