NAT15 Histone acetyltransferase localized in the Golgi apparatus that mediates acetylation of free histone H4, thereby facilitating nucleosome assembly. Has a preference for free histone H4 'Lys-20'(H4K20ac), 'Lys-79'(H4K79ac) and 'Lys-91' (H4K91ac). Also displays alpha (N-terminal) acetyltransferase activity towards a range of N-terminal sequences including those starting with Met-Lys, Met-Val, Met-Ala and Met-Met. Required for normal chromosomal segregation during anaphase. Belongs to the acetyltransferase family. NAA60 subfamily. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative promoter.
Bovine N-acetyltransferase 15 (NAT15) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate NAT15 in samples. An antibody specific for NAT15 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyNAT15 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for NAT15 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of NAT15 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
