Synaptotagmin-like protein 2 (SYTL2) is a synaptotagmin-like protein (SLP) that belongs to a C2 domain-containing protein family. The SLP homology domain (SHD) of this protein has been shown to specifically bind the GTP-bound form of Ras-related protein Rab-27A (RAB27A). This protein plays a role in RAB27A-dependent vesicle trafficking and controls melanosome distribution in the cell periphery. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.
Bovine Synaptotagmin-like protein 2 (SYTL2) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate SYTL2 in samples. An antibody specific for SYTL2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anySYTL2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for SYTL2 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of SYTL2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
