GDF7 encodes a member of the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) family. BMPs belong to the transforming growth factor-beta superfamily of secreted signaling molecules that regulate diverse processes in growth, repair and embryonic development. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature protein, which may play a role in the differentiation of tendon cells and spinal cord interneurons. A mutation in this gene may be associated with increased risk for Barrett's esophagus and esophageal adenocarcinoma.
GDF-7 Polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of GDF-7 protein.
Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator. Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: WB: 1:500-1:2000, IHC-p: 1:100-1:300, ELISA: 1:10000. Not yet tested in other applications.
