At home or abroad, there is more than one type of liquid nitrogen tank commonly used in laboratories: YDS. In addition to the white aviation aluminum storage tanks, there is also a type of liquid nitrogen container that is only used to replenish aviation aluminum storage tanks, called "self-pressurizing liquid nitrogen". Nitrogen tank", belongs to YDZ series. It has the same high vacuum insulation and inner and outer tank double-layer structure as the YDS series, but it does not have the same opening as YDS, but has valves similar to the Dewar flask, which are used for pressurization, drainage, and venting respectively. This design is suitable for liquid nitrogen transportation. Service, all internal storage space is reserved for liquid nitrogen. And considering the weight of the liquid, 304 stainless steel material was selected that takes into account both load-bearing and thermal insulation.

The following is a demonstration of the characteristics of self-pressurizing liquid nitrogen tanks:

1. The capacity is between 15-500 liters, suitable for various liquid nitrogen tanks in the laboratory, and the stem cell liquid nitrogen container is also suitable;

2. The bottom is equipped with universal wheels and is made of wear-resistant material, which is enough to support the tank body. It is convenient and fast to move indoors and refill the fluid more efficiently;

3. Pressure <0.1Mpa, please note that it is not a pressure vessel, but a self-pressurizing liquid nitrogen vessel, which has its own production standard GB/T 16774-2012;

4. It can store liquid nitrogen and is only used for refilling other liquid nitrogen containers. If you want to store liquid nitrogen for a long time, it is recommended to use YDS series. Aviation aluminum material is more insulating than stainless steel.

5. It can refill large-diameter liquid nitrogen tanks in the laboratory. There is no 50mm diameter limit like the liquid nitrogen pump. It is mostly used with small gas-liquid phase liquid nitrogen tanks and YDD stem cell liquid nitrogen tanks. A solenoid valve can be installed to achieve automatic rehydration. .

6. Only the working state needs to be pressurized, that is, when replenishing fluid; the non-working state pressure is 0;

7. It is a non-pressure vessel and does not require annual inspection or reporting. It is more suitable for use in schools and laboratories. It is quick to refill, safe and efficient.

However, it should be noted that the self-pressurizing liquid nitrogen tank is not a Dewar bottle. Although the appearance of the two is similar, the pressurization principle is very different. The self-pressurizing is internal pressurization, does not contact external air, and protects the purity of liquid nitrogen. And due to different craftsmanship, there is a difference in price between the two. Do not confuse them, which will affect their use!
