I. Product introduction

Carboxypeptidase B (EC 3.4.17.2) is an exocrine protease belonging to the family of metal carboxypeptidase A and carboxypeptidase B (CPA/CPB). It contains one Zn atom per molecule. It can specifically hydrolyze the peptide bond at the amino terminal of the C-terminal basic amino acids of proteins (Lysine, Arginine, Histidine).

This product is a lyophilized powder which is expressed by recombinant Yeast, freeze-dried after multi-step separation and purification. It is homologous to porcine carboxypeptidase B and also has the same specificity and activity consistent with it. However, the product is free of Animal viruses and other hybrid enzymes and can be used as an alternative to animal-derived carboxypeptidase B for various biotechnological processes.The activity of recombinant carboxypeptidase B was inhibited by typical metal chelating agents such as EDTA, Cu2+, Hg2+, Zn2+, Mn2+ and so on.The optimal pH of CPB is 8.0, and both partial acid and partial base will lead to decreased activity. The activity is close to zero when the pH is close to 5.0, and the activity is completely lost when the pH is close to 12.0.carboxypeptidase B activity increased with the increase of temperature at a certain temperature (<60℃)

Iv. Recommend Usage

It is recommended to dissolve the recombinant carboxypeptidase B lyophilized powder with 25 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.6) to make the concentration of the enzyme solution 1-10 mg/ml. the amount of enzyme: the target protein (mass ratio) = 1:50-1:1000, the reaction pH is 7.5-9.0 and temperature is 25-35°C.

V. Storage stability

Store at -15℃~-20℃, stable within 24 months; when Tris-HCl buffer is formulated into an enzyme solution, repeatedly frozen and thawed 5 times, no loss of activity.
