DACT2 (Dishevelled Binding Antagonist Of Beta Catenin 2) is a Protein Coding gene. Among its related pathways are TGF-beta receptor signaling. GO annotations related to DACT2 include transcription factor binding and protein kinase C binding. An important paralog of DACT2 is DACT1. Involved in regulation of intracellular signaling pathways during development. Negatively regulates the Nodal signaling pathway, possibly by promoting the lysosomal degradation of Nodal receptors, such as TGFBR1. May be involved in control of the morphogenetic behavior of kidney ureteric bud cells by keeping cells epithelial and restraining their mesenchymal character. May play an inhibitory role in the re-epithelialization of skin wounds by attenuating TGF-beta signaling (By similarity).
Human Dapper homolog 2 (DACT2) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate DACT2 in samples. An antibody specific for DACT2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyDACT2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for DACT2 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of DACT2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
