Tower Cold Chain Publishes First Sustainability Report

Hits:742   Date: 5/22/2024
Tower Cold Chain has published its first Sustainability Report, highlighting the company’s commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles. The Report emphasises the environmental benefits of using its passive temperature-controlled containers for the transportation of pharmaceuticals and life sciences products.

Free to download from the Tower Cold Chain website, the Report documents the company’s sustainability roadmap, focussed on achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. The Report showcases Tower’s ESG strategy, which is aligned with internationally recognised benchmarks including Global Report Initiative (GRI) and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Amongst the key markers on this roadmap already achieved by Tower, are the Silver EcoVadis Award and ISO 14001 certification.

Highlights of the Report include a detailed explanation of how Tower containers enhance supply chain sustainability through product innovation, development and circularity.  This is achieved through the Tower model of robust, reliable and fully reusable containers, which can stay in circulation for years/decades to reduce Tower’s environmental footprint.

The Report also covers company governance and Tower’s social commitments to its workforce and the wider community.

Chief Executive, Niall Balfour said: “As we address the challenges presented by our industry, Tower Cold Chain is called upon to foster innovation and collaboration among all stakeholders, shaping the way we operate and the solutions we provide. In recent years, we have successfully introduced products and services that enhance and optimise our sustainability efforts, both as a supplier and as an employer.

“Our goal is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030 and it brings me great pleasure to share the strides Tower Cold Chain has taken in working towards this ambitious goal in this new report.”
