ESBLs are beta-lactamases that hydrolyze extended-spectrum cephalosporins with an oxyimino side chain. The kit contains a specific ready-to-use system for the detection of the Extended Spectrum Beta-Lactamases (ESBLs) Producing Bacteria. Fluorescence is emitted and measured by the real time systems' optical unit during the PCR.
