The 5975 inert MSD is all about reliability and improved performance. Built on the same platform as the popular Agilent 5973 series MSD – the best selling GC/MS of all time – the Agilent 5975 inert MSD is a big step forward in reliable performance that leverages new and smarter hardware and software technologies. There have been many improvements in the 5975 inert MSD. Some are obvious like the front glass window. Others are not so obvious, but are far more important to the overall system performance.

QuickSwap for vent-free column removal, inlet maintenance, and backflushing

The 5975 inert MSD is controlled by the most advanced GC/MS software ever, the MSD Productivity ChemStation, which has been improved without the need to retrain existing users. In addition, the software is backward-compatible with all versions of the 5973 series MSD. As a result, all 5973 and 5975 instruments can operate under the same MSD ChemStation platform.

While we have made many improvements to the existing software we have also added a number of features such as:

Synchronous SIM/Scan mode of operation
Automation of EI with CI ion source – combined EI/CI
Integrated Agilent Headspace Sampler control
Software control of the 6850 GC
