Chromatrap^®’s ChIP Validated AcH4 Antibody and Positive Primer Set provides a complete set of tools to assist with a successful ChIP assay. Including: AcH4 antibody, control sheep IgG, and a positive primer set. The ChIP Validated AcH4 Antibody and Positive Primer Set is not suitable for use with non-human species.

Background:
Histone 4 (H4) is one of the core histone proteins, comprising the protein component of chromatin. It is the smallest subunit of chromatin. Acetylation of histone H4 occurs at several different lysine positions on the histone tail and is catalysed by a group of enzymes called histone acetyltransferases (HATs). Histone acetylation is associated with active transcription.

A sheep IgG is included in this Antibody Primer Set as a negative control for the ChIP experiment.

AcH4 is associated with active transcription; the positive primer set included in this Antibody Primer Set recognises a gene that is present when transcription is switched on.
