Tens of thousands of oligonucleotideprobes are coupled tomicrometer-sized silica beads andfixed within meticulously etchedmicrowells on a single-crystal siliconplate.Through clever probe design, these tiny silica beads can precisely identify the genetic information of targeted markers in the genome. Each marker is assayed by 15-30 replicated tiny beads, providing the trusted data quality required.
