Noradrenaline (NA) , also called Norepinephrine (NE) or noradrenalin, is an organic chemical in the catecholamine family that functions in the brain and body as a hormone and neurotransmitter. Noradrenaline (NA) is also the international nonproprietary name given to the drug. Regardless of which name is used for the substance itself, parts of the body that produce or are affected by it are referred to as noradrenergic.
Chicken Noradrenaline (NA) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate NA in samples. An antibody specific for NA has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyNA present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for NA is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of NA bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
