Golgi protein-73 (GP73), a resident Golgi glycoprotein, is up-regulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). GP73 is a novel serum marker for HCC.The Golgi complex plays a key role in the sorting and modification of proteins exported from the endoplasmic reticulum. 1 is a type II Golgi transmembrane protein. It processes protein synthesized in the rough endoplasmic reticulum and assists in the transport of protein cargo through the Golgi apparatus. The expression of this encoded protein has been observed to be upregulated in response to viral infection. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described for this gene.It is overexpressed in prostate cancer.
Canine Golgi membrane protein 1 (GOLM1) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate GOLM1 in samples. An antibody specific for GOLM1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyGOLM1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for GOLM1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of GOLM1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
