Putative deoxyribose-phosphate aldolase (DERA) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with DERA include Phlebotomus Fever. Among its related pathways are Metabolism and Immune System. GO annotations related to this gene include lyase activity and deoxyribose-phosphate aldolase activity. This protein acts as an enzyme. It is known to catalyze the following reaction : 2-deoxy-D-ribose 5-phosphate = D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate + acetaldehyde.
Bovine Putative deoxyribose-phosphate aldolase (DERA) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate DERA in samples. An antibody specific for DERA has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyDERA present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for DERA is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of DERA bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
