2.Octopamine hydrochloride has dual effect on glucose transport in adipocytes: inhibits transport via
β3 receptor activation but stimulates transport when oxidised by MAO.
Activates human α2A receptors
3.Octopaminehydrochloride also activates human α2A receptors and inhibiting subsequent cAMP production.
Treat low blood pressure and heart disease
4. Octopamine is used to treat low blood pressure and heart disease (in some cases). There is some evidence suggesting it may stimulate the release of chemicals known as catecholamines.
