Endothelial protein C receptor (EPCR) also known as activated protein C receptor (APC receptor) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PROCR gene.PROCR has also recently been designated CD201 (cluster of differentiation 201).The protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for protein C that enhances its activation. Protein C is an anti-coagulant serine protease activated by the blood coagulation pathway.
Rat Soluble endothelial protein C receptor (sEPCR) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate PROCR in samples. An antibody specific for PROCR has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyPROCR present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for PROCR is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of PROCR bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
