The old-fashioned method for understanding the growth characteristics of microbial strains by manual sampling is to be completely changed in the field of biological fermentation in China. Through years of hard work, Labwit has successfully developed the ZWYF-290B Online Optical Density Measurement Shaking Incubator with online real-time optical density (OD) measurement for microbial stains with non-contact technology. The launch of this patented product has changed the awkward fact that China was unable to produce such equipment for biological fermentation. 
 
After decades of rapid development in research and application of biological fermentation technology, China has become a key player in fermentation in the world's biological engineering field. However, there is still a big gap between the level and results of scientific research of China and those of developed countries in this field, and backward experimental equipment is one of the key reasons. Currently, the traditional method is still widely used to understand microbial strain growth characteristics through continuous manual sampling for microbial strain cultivation and research in the field of bioengineering fermentation. Being time-consuming and laborious, such manual operations often represent low accuracy, low repeatability, and low efficiency in research efforts. This scene has been a major bottleneck in cultivation and selection of microbial strains for biological fermentation engineering in China. The community of biological fermentation is eager for China-made automatic detection equipment to release them from tedious and heavy operations and realize the dream of China being a power of fermentation technology rather than pure fermentation operations.

Labwit Launches ZWYF-290B Online OD Measurement Shaking Incubator

 
ZWYF-290B Online Optical Density Measurement Shaking Incubator is a brand new thermostatic shaker with online real-time optical density (OD) measurement for microbial cells with non-contact detection technology.  It is comprised of a shaker with a true color touch screen incorporating a non-intrusive multi-channel optical density detector. In a dynamic environment, it measures the optical density of cells in microbial fermentation liquids in real time, tracks changes in the concentration or particle sizes of microbial growth online, and provides a new fundamental bioreactor for biological engineering, biomedicine and biological pharmacy. The product uses a 600/660nm laser light source with 250mL conical flasks specially designed for biological fermentation, meeting the requirements for general detection of microbial fermentation and online analysis of cell growth rate.  Being able to resist strong interference and noise, the product can obtain real microbial cell growth curves under vibration caused by 250rpm and other rotational speed. The product has options of 4, 8, 12 and 16 channels, suitable for orthogonal experiments, uniform experiments and DoE design experiments for highly efficient strain screening, culture medium optimization, process optimization, dynamic analysis, etc. Moreover, the product is equipped with wireless data acquisition and transmission allowing for multi-unit networking as well as high throughput large data biological reactions and analysis.
