General Introduction
The Shanghai Society of Biophysics has previously organized a series of international conferences on Biophysics. Arising from the rapid advancement in the field of mechanobiology, and the increasing number of researchers from around the world working in this area, the Shanghai Society of Biophysics would like to organize an International Symposium on Mechanobiology. We sincerely invite researchers and scientists to attend this meeting and also to enjoy the cities of Shanghai and Hangzhou again.

How to prepare and submit detailed abstracts
(1)     The detailed abstracts should include the following sections: 1) Introduction; 2) Methods, materials and techniques; 3) Results; 4) Discussion and conclusions; 5) References.
(2)     The detailed abstracts should not be longer than one A4 page. Each registered participant is not allowed to send more than 3 abstracts.
(3)     The detailed abstracts should be typed in Word format, single spaced, so that it can be easily edited for printing into the conference book.
(4)     Prepare your manuscript in English according to the following structured format: Title, Author(s), Authors’ affiliations, content text. The title should be typed in bold face letters (size 14, Times New Roman font). The institute and mailing address for every author should be noted clearly. At least one of the authors’ e-mail address should be noted clearly for us to contact them easily. The authors’ names, institutes and mailing addresses and main text should be typed with Times New Roman font (size 10.5), a 2.5 cm margin should be imposed on both by the top and bottom, and 3 cm margin be imposed on both by the right and left.
(5)     For the detailed abstract, no image, table, diagram and graph should be included and no more than 5 references should be listed.
(6)     Category code and main topic (such as Part A, III, 1) etc.), should be noted on the right hand top corner of your abstract page, and here you may also indicate for your preference of presenting this paper either as an oral or poster presentation.
(7)     All the abstracts should be e-mail to Info@ssbiophysics.com.cn
Once we receive your abstract, we shall send you a prompt acknowledgement by e-mail. If you do not hear from us, it means that we have not received it. In this case, please do contact us again for confirmation.
Alternatively, in the conference website (http://www.ssbiophysics.com.cn/2011SICBM) there is menu item for “submitting abstract online window”, please click on it to submit your abstract.
(8) All abstract(s) should be submitted before September 1, 2011. Otherwise, any late abstract will not included in the conference book.
 
Tentative Schedule:
November 4 (All day): registration at Huashia Hotel.
November 5 and 6: Opening ceremony, plenary lectures, session lectures, poster show etc
November 7 and 8: a sightseeing tour to Hangzhou city (south of Shanghai 200 km ), conference buses will take our registered guests to Hangzhou, and enjoy the city, staying for one night in Hangzhou, and in the evening of November 8, our guests will come back to Shanghai by conference buses.
November 9, free.

The registration fees is US$520 for regular participants before the deadline (October 1, 2011), or US$570 after the deadline.
The registration fee for students is US$320 before the deadline (October 1, 2011), or US$370 after the deadline. A photocopy of the student ID card should be presented for the registration.
Any accompanied family member should pay US$240 before the deadline (October 1, 2011), or US$300 after the deadline.
 
Note: The conference will provide all registered participants and accompanier a copy of the abstract book, a gift, conference reception and farewell banquet, daily meals as well as a ticket for the Hangzhou tour without any extra charge.

How to get to hotel from airports
Shanghai has two international airports, Pudong International Airport (PVG) and Hongqiao International Airport (SHA). Please take note on which airport you will arrive in.
 
From Pudong Airport: (1) Take taxi, the cost is about 200 yuan RMB (about US$30) , it will take you about 45 minutes to arrive to the hotel.
(2) Take bus airport-line 3, to Xujiahui stop, the price is 20 yuan RMB (about US$4), then take a taxi to the hotel (price is 12 yuan RMB about US$1.5).
 
From Hongqiao Airport: Take a taxi, the cost is about 30 yuan RMB (about US$6), it will take you about 20 minutes to arrive at the hotel.
